Autonomous vehicles are reshaping mobility with implications for policing, yet limited attention has been given to organizational readiness. This study examines Dubai Police’s readiness to integrate autonomous police vehicles (APVs). Using a survey of police personnel and a literature review, it assesses awareness, acceptance, perceived benefits, and concerns. Findings show that adoption depends not only on technological capability but on the alignment of organizational awareness, governance frameworks, and institutional capacity. The study contributes to emerging research on autonomous mobility by emphasizing the role of organizational and institutional factors in enabling the responsible deployment of autonomous systems in public safety contexts.
