Resumen

Este artículo reflexiona sobre los desafíos y oportunidades de construir ciudades inteligentes y sostenibles en regiones semiáridas, con un enfoque en el bioma Caatinga en Brasil. A partir de la Guía Estratégica para Ciudades Inteligentes y Sostenibles en el Semiárido, se enfatiza cómo las presiones climáticas y las vulnerabilidades socioambientales pueden transformarse en motores de resiliencia, innovación y gobernanza inclusiva. Utilizando la cuádruple hélice como marco de referencia, la Caatinga se presenta como un laboratorio vivo para probar y desarrollar estrategias urbanas. El artículo destaca sus potenciales contribuciones a los debates globales sobre adaptación climática, sostenibilidad urbana y el futuro de las ciudades inteligentes.

Jayuri Susy Fernandes de Araújo es doctoranda en Ingeniería de Procesos en la Universidad Federal de Campina Grande (UFCG), con experiencia en bioeconomía, biotecnología y gestión de la innovación. Ha actuado en la coordinación de proyectos de investigación, planificación estratégica y emprendimiento tecnológico, trabajando en la intersección entre ciencia, sostenibilidad y desarrollo regional.
