This article presents the results of a research aimed at designing a path to improve those factors that can positively affect the competitiveness of the companies of the cultural sector located in the Creative District of San Felipe. It starts with the description of the companies of the area, considering only in art galleries. This is a qualitative, descriptive study, in which 14 businessmen participated by answering an interview that included aspects regarding marketing, staff retention, and factors that influence financial decisions. Results show that businessmen know the industry and the business mostly from their experience as entrepreneurs and that, overall, there is a lack in the application of scientific managerial tools that allow their companies to grow in the market.
