Abstract

This article investigates the discourse of sustainability in the 2024 Olympic Games. Based on a digital corpus composed of official communications, press releases, and content generated on social media, the study integrates corpus linguistics with critical discourse analysis to examine urban textual narratives. The research identifies key collocations, and metaphorical structures that frame sustainability in the context of Olympic urban transformation. The findings highlight that community discourses often employ metaphors to critique or reimagine dominant narratives and serve as tools to shape public understanding and emotional engagement with environmental and social responsibility. This research contributes to the broader field of urban culture by revealing how global events such as the Olympic Games linguistically and symbolically mediate digital urban discourse on imaginaries of sustainability in contemporary urban planning.
