Este artículo analiza la construcción simbólica de las identidades queer en la Trilogía Neovictoriana de Sarah Waters utilizando el análisis de contenido y la semiótica cinematográfica. Explora las técnicas narrativas posmodernas y el simbolismo de la feminidad, centrándose en los temas del deseo, la identidad y la redención. Lo más destacado de este artículo es
cómo las obras de Waters enriquecen la narrativa y desafían las representaciones tradicionales, ofreciendo nuevas perspectivas sobre el género y la sexualidad en la cultura visual, y proporcionan un marco para la simbólica del cine queer, aportando tres temas: sexo, salvación y deseo. Además, la conclusión también indica que el paso de las películas queer a las plataformas OTT ha diversificado el imaginario queer, animando a más creadores a dedicarse a la producción de cine queer y fomentando una comprensión pluralista y el apoyo a la comunidad LGBTQ+.
