Resumen

Este estudio se centra en la cuestión de por qué los murales narrativos están siempre presentes en los templos, qué representan estos murales y qué temas contienen. Para responder a estas preguntas se ha empleado un enfoque de estudio de caso cualitativo y descriptivo. Para estudiar los murales se utilizaron tres tipos de datos: datos visuales en los propios murales, entrevistas y documentos. Las conclusiones de este estudio muestran que un mural narrativo pretende ser una ofrenda para expresar gratitud a los dioses o diosas por la respuesta a las plegarias de una familia demostrando la participación de la congregación en el mantenimiento de la existencia del templo.
