Social Perception of Body Censorship on Instagram and Twitter (X)

Abstract

The sexualization and censorship of nudity on social networks generates a controversial debate about freedom of expression, gender equality, individual autonomy, or discrimination. The objective of this work is to analyze the perception of the censorship to which male and female bodies are subjected on Instagram and Twitter (X). The results shows that there is a gap in the perception of censorship based on gender, especially towards women, showing that there is a sexualized view in society that pornifies what is natural.
